Hunger overview
“Every day, almost 16,000 children die from hunger-related causes. In the time it takes you to read this web page, 7 children will have died from lack of food somewhere in the world,”
-The Food Bank
World hunger is happening everywhere. This is one of the major causes of why people are dying all around the world. This issue happens most on the Middle Eastern and Africa. Also that's why there's much immigration over that places. World hunger is an issue that started a long way back and is causing people to lose their family because people all around the world are wasting food. This makes people lose their lives. Hunger mostly happens in Middle Eastern and African countries because they have lower economy and because they are mostly in the poverty cycle. “World hunger refers to the second definition, aggregated to the world level. The related technical term (in this case operationalized in medicine) is either malnutrition, or, if malnutrition is taken to refer to both undernutrition and overnutrition (obesity, overweight) as it increasingly is, undernutrition. Both malnutrition and undernutrition refer to the effects on people of not having enough food,” (World Hunger, 2015). This proves that hunger occurs more when there is a low economy, and people might be discriminated by that. Malnutrition is caused by hunger, but malnutrition can cause undernutrition and overnutrition. So that’s why most of the people all around the world die. |
